Description

This French engraving depicts the cenotaph of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan within the Taj Mahal at Agra. Drawn by Bernard Picart and engraved by Simonneau, the print illustrates the monument’s elegant floral ornament and architectural details, reflecting the fascination with Mughal art and architecture in Enlightenment Europe.

Condition 

Very good antique condition with light age toning, minor scattered foxing, and mild edge wear. A strong, well-preserved impression with no significant tears or losses visible.
