Description

A finely printed late nineteenth-century chromolithograph depicting three figures in traditional Rajput dress, published as Plate 110 from a French costume series. The composition presents richly attired Rajput nobles in ceremonial costume, reflecting European fascination with the diverse dress and courtly traditions of the Indian subcontinent. Printed by Firmin Didot et Cie., Paris, with accompanying French letterpress text on the reverse discussing the Rajputs (Les Radjepoutes). An attractive example of nineteenth-century ethnographic costume illustration.

Condition

Very good condition. The sheet is clean and well preserved with strong, vibrant original hand-coloring. Light, even age toning is present, most noticeable in the margins. A few minor spots of foxing and scattered handling marks are visible, along with faint surface soiling consistent with age.
